Talvez eu seja pequena lhe cause tanto problema que já não lhe cabe me cuidar

The last few weeks were a bit chaotic, after brisk work and being so spry. I can finaly give my clumsy hands from writing a little break. Hmm, guess I use them now as a book holder and for coffee-making. By the way I just finished a book today, - 1933 was a bad year by John Fante and now I read a few short stories by Kafka. Have you got a favourite book? If so, I would like to know :)

Vacation

Hi everyone,
We will be taking a 3 week vacation to finish out our summer break before the kids head back to school.  This means that we will also be taking a short break from hairstyles.  :(  As soon as we get back we will resume our posts and tutorials.  Thanks so much for your patience and have a wonderful end to your summer as well!
Sincerely,
Julie

Friday's Film: Inside Out Bun Revisited

So I was watching the video from last Friday of our Inside Out Bun.  You can find that original post here.  I realized that there is a much easier way to accomplish the same desired look.  Here's a video that will same you some time on your Inside Out Bun:
See, now wasn't that much easier?!
Here's a pictures of our new Inside Out Bun and you can see that it looks just like the first.
I will always take the easier edition if it looks just as good!  :)

A blue dress

On a summer afternoon with Lucio. The dress is actually from my aunt and I have no idea from where she got it, it's pretty old but I really like it, especially its colour and white buttons. Oh the warm weather makes me feel so lazy..

Mohawks

This is not really a "princess" hairstyle but my two oldest boys were so excited about their new Mohawks that they wanted me to post about it on the blog.  :)
They were both in desperate need of a haircut and I told them they could choose how they wanted it until school started.
They both chose a Mohawk hairstyle and I agreed just because I know I have the power to change it back before school.
I first used a rat-tail comb and sectioned out the Mohawk area and then I used TONS of gel and shaped it how I wanted it to look.
Then I just grabbed the shaver with a #3 attachment on it and went to work shaving the sides.
The younger one pictured here decide that it was too high maintenance of a hairstyle for him so he now just has a short buzz but my other son absolutely LOVES his Mohawk.  We ended up eventually shaving the back part off so that just the top was spiky because the back was always getting mashed in the car anyway.  It looks much better now.  :)
Boys will be boys!

Dutch Crown

I was on Pinterest recently and came across this amazing hairstyle.  We are calling it the Dutch Crown and the picture is below.
You can find the original link here which will give you a much larger view of the picture and instructions.
This is our attempt at the hairstyle and I really like how it turned out.
The length of my princess's hair had it her braid ending directly above her right ear and it turned out nicely.
By starting the Dutch Braid down at the bottom, it wrapped around the head more evenly.
A very simple and beautiful hairstyle!

Friday's Film: Inside Out Bun

Today's video is something a little new.  I decided to introduce myself to you and let my princess speak a little bit because sometimes the videos get a little redundant and it's nice to see the face behind the styles.  :)
This hairstyle is called "Inside Out Bun" and it's basically one bun inside another.  The center bun is created using a bun mold and the outer bun is creating using Barrel Rolls.
It's fairly simple but you do want to be sure that you're working with wet hair because that will make all the difference!'
Here's a picture of the finished product.
The Barrel Rolls around the outside can be made as small or as large as you like.
Make sure you have plenty of bobby pins handy to secure all your pieces.
You can see that the bun also resembles a flower a bit.
It was fun introducing ourselves to you and we hope that you continue to enjoy our posts and our videos.  :)

Erm, I can't really access my Formspring.me account.. bug. Don't know if it will be fixed, and I don't know if I will make another account probably not. But I guess most questions have been answered, especially about my 'photography'. But if you have any questions you can ask them here :) xxx take care.

I am currently in a state of blankness, nothingness. It is like when you think too much, worry too, stress to much so your brain gets numb. I feel quite glad to have this feeling sometimes. To feel nothing, it is quite relaxing. But the feeling of uncertainty is heavy in the chest sometimes. I've been living life muddling around. Life is a bittersweet bewilderment. Oh my, what do you want to do before you leave? Take a last gulp of beer? love and be loved? survive? I know what I want and it is not possible to concretise. Because we were born for it.. it's predestinated to all of us. There's no way out. It's rather a bit or a lot of struggle until 'we are out'

Braid Roll

It does not get much more simple than this!  It's called the Braid Roll and it's a great one to do on your own hair because it's so easy.
Begin with wet hair and pull it all back into a ponytail.  Your ponytail can be high, low, or centered.
Now simply braid the entire ponytail VERY loosely.  You do not want tight uniform plaits.  I would just stick with a Regular 3-Strand Braid because you don't want to much clutter going on with this bun.  Make sure to plait all the way down to the very bottom of the hair and then secure it with an elastic.
Now gently wrap the braid around that top elastic to begin and then around itself until all of the braid is up on the head.  You can add bobby pins as you go along to secure it into place.  It's not supposed to be a tight bun so remember to keep it loose.
Tuck your ends under the bun and secure it with a couple final bobby pins.  It's elegant and simple and what could be better than that?
